Murchison Falls National Park-Covering 3,480sq.km. Murchison Falls conservation area comprises Murchison Falls National Park, Bugungu and Karuma wildlife reserves. This is where the Nile explodes through a narrow gorge and cascades down to become a placid river whose banks are thronged with Hippos, crocodiles, and waterbucks. The vegetation is characterized by savannah, riverine forest and woodland. Wildlife here includes; lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, hartebeests, oribi, Uganda cobs, hyenas, different primates and a variety of bird life. Kaniyo Pabidi is an undisturbed area of natural forest within Budongo Forest Reserve where you can walk beneath mature mahogany and ironwood trees. Chimpanzee tracking is the most famous activity in the area, but there is a wide range of other primates and Birdlife. The birds include White thighed hornbill, and Puvel’s illadopsis found nowhere in East African national parks. Rabongo forest is surrounded by Savannah grasslands and is not very far from Paara the park headquarters. Spotting primates black, White and black colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, baboons and others more.
